Fly-Out (Oban or Eshott)
Saturday 12th April 2014
10.30am for 11.00am Departure
out will be either west to Oban or south to Eshott ... depending on what the weather's doing on the day. The plan is to meet at Fife for 10.00am, decide where were going, sort ourselves out in terms of who's flying in what aircraft and then get in the air as soon as possible.
Oban's a nice hour's flying away and the Lochnell Arms Hotel sits at the south end of the runway overlooking the Connel Bridge and is a great place for lunch. On the other hand, Eshott in Northumberland is just south of Alnwick and north of the Newcastle Zone where you will find a great wee flying club in the middle of nowhere and based on an old disused WWII RAF airfield.
Fly-outs are a great opportunity to meet new club members and even get to fly in a type of aircraft different to the one you normally fly so with two very different options in mind, hopefully we'll be able to get to one of the destinations ..... !
As always, students are especially welcome - if you've never been much further than Largo Bay, this will be a great opportunity to see what flying cross country is about. Whether you're a PPL or student, we can usually sort out seating arrangements to accommodate those wishing to come along
