Visit to Scottish Information
Sunday 24th August 2014
We're planning a visit to the Scottish Information Operations Centre at Prestwick for later in August (they're the folks we speak to on 119.875 when we ask for a "Basic Service" ..... and they often respond by asking us to "Squawk 7401"). This promises to be an interesting trip to gain an insight into what goes on at the "other end of the dialogue" (e.g. they don't work with radar - they're very much dependent on us pilots giving them regular position reports).
Once there, the tour will take about 2 hours but spaces on the trip are limited (they have been in the past) so will have to go on a "first come, first served" basis.
If you'd like to come (either flying or driving) please leave a message in the Discussion Forum ..... the first 12 people are the lucky ones! We'll need to know names by Sunday 17th August as we need to pass the list of names to NATS at Prestwick in advance so they can make the necessary security arrangements.
Travel details will follow nearer the time but for now, please let us know if you'd like to come.
